Papermaking in Montessori classroom

One of my favorite things to talk with children in a Primary classroom is about sustainability.

How to conserve energy and water, food waste , composting, paper making etc.

The importance of taking care of our planet in every day life is so clear and simple for children. "Earth is our home, so we take care of it". When talking about the deforestation caused by the paper industry, we realize we can help by making our own paper to minimize the amount of tree cut each year. Then we prepare a permanent station work in the classroom and children do recycled paper every day and become experts and artists in the manufacture of paper.
